Sometimes compared with yoga pilates alexander or even reiki shiatsu qi gong, the Feldenkrais method is a gentle yet powerful and effective method of physical therapy and wellness. The Feldenkrais Method is for anyone who wants to reconnect with their natural abilities to move, think and feel more fully and effectively in our daily lives. Awareness Through Movement classes offer individuals and groups the ability to practice the Feldenkrais Method without having a practitioner present.
Moshe Pinhas Feldenkrais developed a method which is now known by his name. In the late 1950’s Feldenkrais presented his work in Europe and the United States. In the mid 1960s he began publishing a series of books. After giving month-long courses internationally, he taught a 65-student, teacher-training program in San Francisco over four summers, 1975-1978.
He began the 235-student Amherst training in 1980, but was only able to teach the first two summers of the four-year program. Many of his students have carried on his legacy through these recordings of lessons learned from their training with Moshe.
