These Won’t Feel Like Homework
“Long-term consistency trumps short-term intensity.”
– Bruce Lee –
If you really want to improve your English efficiency, consistent, regular and guided practice is the proven way to do it.
Many of us would like to listen to more things in a foreign language, but we may not know what to look for or we may need a bit of guidance to keep us focused while listening. I know this happens to me in Spanish.
We want to offer you some guidance – your English listening.
We’ve tried to offer a wide variety of listening content from popular songs to podcasts to interviews and Ted Talks.
Set time aside to do these listening exercises and then sign up for a class to check your answers and discuss the homework.
**Note: These are NOT typical English exercises. These are content-based English lessons.**
The objective of these homework assignments is for you to practice your English fluency by listening to a song or thinking through a topic in English while learning natural, useful expressions and vocabulary to use when you’re speaking.
If you have another teacher:
Perfect! I’m sure your teacher would be thrilled if you took initiative to do homework and actually brought a talking topic to your lessons. We’ve tried to add some interesting discussion topics and conversation starters in to the lesson.
You’re also always welcome to sign up for an Office Hours Lesson if you have time.

Motivation. Self-belief. Consistency. Jesse Sweed started teaching English in South Korea in 2006. He then traveled to Spain, and now he teaches English online to students all over the world. As the founder of Sweed Academy, he uses that experience to create the most practical and useful courses and English lessons possible that will be useful for teachers and learners of English.
Hey there, English speakers. I’m Jesse. As it says above, I’ve been an TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) teacher since 2006. I’ve learned a lot in that time, and I want to share my experiences – you to help you in the classroom whether you’re a teacher or a student.
WE CAN ALL USE A FRESH PERSPECTIVE. This is what I’m offering you. The three first words of this bio are the three keys to success when you’re studying to be fluent in another language. There’s one more key factor that umbrella’s over all of these three… ACCOUNTABILITY.
I’ve helped students -:
passing exams, improving conversation skills, preparing for job interviews, public speaking, grammar, writing, or just general English improvement
If you have any ideas for future courses, let me know. I’m always open to suggestions. I want to help you get to the next level.
Is this year gonna be like last?
